WID - EVENTS FOR SPRING

I'm hosting various workshops in the late spring & summer months at my studio in Glendale! Check out the first one below. I'm still working out the dates but it should be a magical night filled with art making and inspiration!

Altars and Icons: Create Your Own Tribute to Your Creative Feminine Power
Art Workshop hosted by Candace J. Metzger
at Studio 604
When: June & July (weekend dates coming soon)
5:30pm - 8:30pm
Where: Studio 604 (Glendale, CA)
Cost: $20 per person (minimal donation to cover materials)


Using collage, mixed media, glue, wood and more, create your own
icon that embodies whatever inspires you. Be it the Goddess of Creativity,
Idol to End Creator's Block, it's up to you - I'll just provide the power tools,
the supplies, and a bit of guidance through the process.

Salad, wine, cheese, and the early warm summer evening ambiance of our studio
courtyard provided to help inspire!

Thanks for coming to WID presentation

Hi all,
Just wanted to thank all of you who came to the WID meeting, feast and Trendease Presentation last night.
Hopefully, Candace has sent you an invitation to join in the fun of posting on the WID Blog with your news and up coming events. Please feel free to suggest ideas for events you would like to be a part of in the future for WID get togethers. I believe, if you didn't hear last night, Debbie Beck has volunteered to host a gift giving in January at her house.

I thought it might be fun to post a picture of last nights festivities. I also included one of our youngest member Sophie at the computer.

Reconnecting + Nov. Potluck

Oh where oh where has our little WID gone? Well, let's say maybe - hibernation? I'm sure you all have been busy as can be! But I must say that after reconnecting with a few members here and there I was reminded of what a valuable resource of fabulous women WID has been throughout the years. We need eachother! So how about we reconnect? I've created this blog as a forum to share and communicate easily, and to also provide a web destination for all of us to post our various artist+designer exploits! You are all invited to contribute a lot or a little, subscribe or un-subscribe, and invite your friends to participate! To kick it all off please mark on your calendars an event for NOVEMBER!

Mary Jane Mitchell and I are hosting a Holiday Potluck at my studio in
Glendale on Nov.21st (Friday night) 6-9pm.

It's a pot-luck, pre-holiday get together, where we'll all get to catch up. And also, as a special design-related treat Mary Jane will be sharing with us some valuable information about TRENDEASE ( an online resource reporting on global trends and key international design events.)

MaryJane Mitchell has been an avid subscriber to Trendease since 2005. She recently became the Accounts Manager for the online publication in June of this year. She has offered to give the group a free online demonstration of how the site works, showing all of the wonderful features.She will also allow WID members to play on the site to get a chance to really see the advantage of being a subscriber.
